Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

As of 2019, our Faculty, which holds the title of Turkey's first Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, was founded in 1961 by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı at Ankara University. With the establishment of Hacettepe University in 1967, it became the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation; and graduated its first students in 1965. It continues its educational activities as one of the faculties located on Hacettepe University's Sıhhiye campus.

Our Faculty accepts students based on the numerical score type in the TYT-AYT (YKS) exam conducted by ÖSYM. Our quota for 2025 is 80. Our department has been the leading department in Turkey in terms of student enrollment among all Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Departments since its establishment.

Our faculty provides internship opportunities in units located within Hacettepe University hospitals and the faculty's physical facilities (click here for information about the units). This distinguishes it from other Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation programs. Our faculty holds a very important position globally with its education, research, and application units, as well as its prosthetics and orthotics workshop, which are the first of their kind in Turkey and are constantly being expanded with new additions. These units are valuable for conducting scientific studies, projects, and thesis work, as well as increasing clinical experience, guiding physiotherapists, and providing internship opportunities for students. In addition to mandatory internships, the department is also open to voluntary internships depending on the student's wishes. The language of instruction at our faculty is Turkish.
