1961 – Physiotherapy profession was first introduced to the country by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı, with the establishment of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation linked to Ankara University, School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
1962 – Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation became a branch of Ankara University, School of Health Sciences.
1963 – The department become a division of Ankara University, Faculty of Hacettepe Medicine and Health Sciences,
1964 – The department was named Ankara University, Hacettepe School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation according to the decision published in the Official Gazette dated July 24, 1964.
1967 – The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation continued the activities under the rectorate of Hacettepe University after its establishment.
2007 – Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation became a department of Hacettepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences on June 13, 2007.
2010 – Based on the decision of Higher Education Council, the name of the department was changed as "Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation."
2019 – The structure has changed as FACULTY OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AND REHABILITATION based on the Republic of Turkey Presidential Decision published in the Official Gazette on January 9, 2019 with the number 576.
