In the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department within the Graduate School Of Health Sciences, which started education and training in the master of science in 1967-68, the doctoral program in Sports Physiotherapy took its place in the academic programs of Hacettepe University in 1998 and is still being carried out successfully. Hacettepe University is the only University in Turkey that carries out a Ph.D. program in the field of "Sports Physiotherapy". The field of Sports Physiotherapy is also one of the physiotherapy specialization areas preferred by the physiotherapists who graduated. In this program, physiotherapists are trained to be able to develop their clinical and academic studies by specializing in the field of "Sports Physiotherapy" at the doctoral level and by creating multidisciplinary research, development, and application platform. Graduates of the “Sports Physiotherapy” Doctor of Philosophy program (with thesis) within the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department receive the title of "Ph.D." in the field of Sports Physiotherapy.
